Round 1
Smith comes out with a sweeping punch, misses and takes one back
from Neto, who then rushes the American into the fence. Smith gets
off the fence to land a knee and they reset in the middle. Neto
pops Smith with a left hook, and the middleweights spend half a
minute circling before Neto comes in behind a combo to try for a
takedown. Smith defends at first with a sprawl, but Neto keeps
after it and plows him down at the base of the cage. After nearly
having his back taken in the scramble, Smith sweeps to top
position. Neto immediately latches on to Smith’s left leg as they
roll, then extends the limb, immediately forcing Smith to tap out
to the kneebar. Antonio Braga Neto wins his UFC debut via
submission at 1:52 of round one.
Round 1
Magalhaes shoots almost immediately for a double-leg, but Vemola
sprawls and punishes the Brazilian with a series of short left
hands. Magalhaes pops up and now it’s Vemola looking for a takedown
on the fence. Magalhaes grabs a guillotine and jumps guard, but
Vemola pops his head free before slamming Magalhaes to the canvas.
The jiu-jitsu stylist throws up his legs while Vemola stays heavy
on top, dodging submissions and punishing Magalhaes’ head and body
with punches and elbows. Magalhaes recovers full guard and swings
his hips for an armbar. Vemola stands and extracts his arm, then
bashes Magalhaes with a flurry of brutal left hands. Now it’s right
hands from Vemola blasting the reddened face of Magalhaes, who is
maintaining guard and trying to defend against the onslaught.
Magalhaes gets to his feet with Vemola clinging to his waist.
Magalhaes turns around and pulls guard with another guillotine
attempt, from which Vemola escapes. Vemola goes for a double with
45 seconds left and Magalhaes tries yet another guillotine. Vemola
slams Magalhaes before freeing his head this time, but eventually,
Vemola escapes to finish the round on top.Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Vemola
Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Vemola
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Vemola
Round 2
Magalhaes puts Vemola’s back on the fence right away, but Vemola
turns it around as the middleweights throw slow strikes in the
clinch. Magalhaes reverses again and takes Vemola to the ground,
then passes to side control on the right. Vemola gives up his back
and Magalhaes looks for a rear-naked choke, can’t get, then
postures up and batters with ground-and-pound. Vemola escapes and
tries to stand, but only makes it to his knees before Magalhaes
shoves him back down. Magalhaes roughs him up with punches before
Vemola gives up his back again, and this time Magalhaes gets the
RNC. Vemola taps out, giving Caio Magalhaes the win via submission
at 2:49 of round two.
Round 1
The featherweights feint and circle in the center of the cage for
half a minute before Hirota sticks a jab. Damm counters with a
cracking right hand and a leg kick. Hirota comes back to stagger
Damm with a jab, tries to follow up with more punches and they wind
up fighting on the fence briefly. Damm knocks Hirota down and
pounces; Hirota grabs the fence in his attempt to stand, drawing a
warning from referee Mario Yamasaki. As Hirota slowly creeps up the
fence, Damm keeps hold of a bodylock, then tosses the Japanese
fighter back down. Hirota is warned again for grabbing the cage as
he stands again, still pinned to a cagepost by Damm. With two
minutes left, Hirota escapes and pops Damm with a left hand. Damm
answers with a blocked body kick and a slapping outside leg kick.
Damm lands another wide right hand that has Hirota moving backward
momentarily. Hirota gets tagged with another right, but answers
with an uppercut to the body of Damm before the horn.Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Damm

Round 2
Hirota is sticking his jab in the early going of round two, but now
Damm has a left-handed counter to answer. Damm switches to leg
kicks after a minute, spinning Hirota around with one and drawing a
low-kick reply from the former Sengoku champ. Hirota continues to
try and stick his jab, landing some but eating more counters from
Damm. Lunging in with a long left, Hirota pops Damm, who backpedals
and escapes along the fence. Damm connects with a thudding body
kick, answered by a Hirota leg kick. Damm misses with a wide pair
of hooks and eats a jab. The Brazilian shoots on a single-leg and
Hirota spins out with one minute remaining. Hirota lands a jab and
an outside thigh kick, then comes faster on an exchange of straight
punches. Hirota is on the move now, coming forward on Damm as the
round expires.

Round 3
Hirota comes in low behind a combination, looking to take Damm to
the ground, but Damm shoves him off. Now it’s Damm looking for a
takedown and being denied by Hirota, who lands a leg kick and goes
body-head with punches. Damm answers with a nice one-two, misses
with his follow-up punches and eats a jab. Left hooks to the body
and head land for Hirota as he briefly pushes forward. Damm grazes
with an overhand right that doesn’t seem to faze Hirota. Again,
Hirota goes to the body and head with a combo, then continues
moving forward and lands a right cross. Damm turns away a takedown
try from Hirota and lands a hard leg kick. As the clock hits the
one-minute mark, Damm hits a takedown, then a thunderous suplex on
Hirota. They roll and Hirota scrambles to his feet as Damm tries to
take his back. Hirota misses with a slow high kick, keeps coming
forward and slugs Damm with a left. Damm comes back with a counter
left of his own and finishes the fight with a front kick to the
body and a low kick.

Round 1
Alcantara walks Silva toward the fence and picks at the smaller man
with straight punches. Silva changes levels and runs into a knee
from Alcantara, but the Jungle Fight vet backs off and allows Silva
to reset. Still circling around the outside, “Marajo” pumps more
straight punches in Silva’s face, but he slips on a kick and winds
up with Silva on top, in Alcantara’s open guard. Butterfly guard
for Alcantara now as Silva stands and grabs hold of his opponent’s
legs. Alcantara gets back to his feet and Silva goes after a
single-leg on the fence. Alcantara pulls his leg free and socks
Silva with a right hand as they break. Silva holds Alcantara on the
fence until Alcantara trips him to the ground away from the cage.
Alcantara tries to stack up while Silva slides his knee across to
attack a leg. Some ground-and-pound lands for Alcantara before he
backs off and ref Marc Goddard orders Silva back up. Silva finishes

blocked by the jab of Alcantara, who walks Silva down and lands a
step-in knee to the body. Silva is denied another takedown attempt
and then ordered back up by referee Goddard. Alcantara keeps
pushing forward, picking his shots on Silva, who is offering little
offense in return. Alcantara switches his stance to orthodox and
gets zapped by a left from Silva, then quickly switches back to
southpaw. More jabs from Alcantara as the round winds down. Silva
tries a spinning heel kick as time runs out and winds up on his
back after slipping.

Alcantara is again on the offensive, backing Silva into the fence
with body kicks this time. After 45 seconds, Silva tries to get
busy, but only manages a couple punches before he’s backed away.
Silva shoots a single-leg which Alcantara slips with ease. Boos
sprinkle down from the Fortaleza crowd onto the Brazilian
welterweights. Alcantara takes Silva to the ground with just over
two minutes remaining. Silva squirms underneath, so Alcantara backs
off, stands and crashes back down with a big punch. Silva lands an
illegal upkick as they work on the ground, but Alcantara is fine
and the fight continues without a point deduction. Alcantara stands
back up as they restart and Silva pushes forward, only to be taken
down again. They move to north-south position, then stand again to
exchange body kicks as time runs out.

Round 1
Pepey lunges after Arantes on the fence and works for a single-leg
while Arantes defends. Pepey nearly takes Arantes’ back as they
tumble to the ground, but “Sertanejo” flips around and puts Pepey’s
back on the canvas. Pepey has his guardwork interrupted by some
heavy shots on top, then answers right back by elbowing Arantes in
the face. More elbows come from Pepey underneath before he works a
kimura sweep and takes full mount on Arantes. Posturing up to drop
punches, Pepey is stifled by Arantes’ guard. Arantes hits a sweep
of his own and immediately begins bashing Pepey with nasty elbows
and punches. Pepey is dazed and not properly defending himself, so
referee Dan Miragliotta steps in, giving Felipe Arantes the win via
TKO at 3:32 of round one.
Round 1
Assuncao opens up with kicks to the legs and body of Lee, who stays
on his back foot in the southpaw stance. Assuncao gets in on a
single-leg against the fence and Lee defends, socking Assuncao in
the ribs while standing on one leg. Assuncao releases and tags Lee
with a right hand on the split. A flying knee misses for Assuncao,
allowing Lee to circle off the fence. Lee sticks a jab and Assuncao
slips to the ground, then pops back up. Lee lands a left up top, a
leg kick and a left to the body. Assuncao drives forward and plows
Lee down at the base of the fence, but Lee is right back on his
feet with two minutes to go in the opening round. Assuncao changes
levels behind a two-piece combo and slams Lee down with a big
double-leg. Heavy right hands land to the body of Lee as Assuncao
postures up in half-guard, then moves to side control on Lee’s
right. Lee tries to get his knee between them, but Assuncao defends
and takes full mount with 30 seconds left. Lee bucks out and gets
to his knees, where he’s wrapped up by Assuncao to finish the
round.Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Assuncao

looking for a takedown. Assuncao turns it around and works for a
high double of his own, though he’s now bleeding from the face.
Assuncao finishes the takedown and moves to full mount, then pivots
to set up an armbar on Lee’s right arm. Assuncao looks to go
belly-down and finish the submission, then rolls Lee onto his back,
breaks the Englishman’s grip and extends the arm. Lee taps right
away, and Raphael Assuncao gets the win via submission at 1:51 of
round two.
Round 1
Wilkinson moves around the perimeter while “Rony Jason” stalks from
the center. After 40 seconds, Wilkinson changes levels and puts
Jason on his back, and the Brazilian quickly throws up his legs for
a triangle. The choke is deep, and Jason adds a series of elbows
from his back as Wilkinson goes to sleep. Referee Marc Goddard
recognizes that Wilkinson is out and calls the fight at 1:24 of
round one.
Round 1
Sarafian lands the first strong offense of the fight about 40
seconds in, tagging Mendez with a two-punch combo. Mendez responds
with a left hand before shoving Sarafian against the fence.
Sarafian uses an inside trip to put Mendez on his back, then works
to pass to side control on Mendez’s right. Instead, Sarafian frames
up an arm-triangle choke, trapping Mendez’s left arm and squeezing
from half-guard. Mendez is forced to tap out, and ref Dan
Miragliotta waves this one off at 2:20 of round one.
Round 1
High whips a couple kicks in the direction of Silva, who backs out
of the way of both. Silva sprawls on a shot from High and takes the
American’s back in the ensuing scramble. Silva transitions from a
rear-naked choke attempt to a triangle armbar from back control,
and an overwhelmed High is quickly forced to submit. Erick Silva
picks up the submission win at 1:11 of round one.
Round 1
Feijao opens with a leg kick and Silva slips a right straight.
Silva lands a body kick before backing up and covering to avoid a
string of heavy Feijao punches down the middle. Cavalcante digs a
straight right to Silva’s body, then goes up top. Silva comes
forward now and has a body kick deflect off Cavalcante’s right arm.
Feijao jabs, then ducks under two hooks from Silva and pops back up
to attack Silva’s ribs. Silva attacks with leg kicks and lands a
right hand, but Feijao answers with a right of his own. Silva
connects with a body kick but comes up short on three punches
behind it. Both men are covering up well under attack in this
give-and-take exchange until Cavalcante surprises Silva with a
spinning elbow. Silva recovers quickly and comes forward to back
Feijao against the cage with punches and knees. Feijao calmly
circles out, but Silva stays on him and elbows the Strikeforce
vet’s face. Silva peppers Cavalcante’s legs with kicks and covers
up to avoid an uppercut. A right hook-right uppercut combo from
Silva rocks Cavalcante’s head, and Silva follows up with an inside
leg kick before waving Feijao on. Instead, it’s Silva who charges
forward, backing his opponent against the fence and clobbering
Cavalcante with a barrage of clean punches to the head. Feijao
drops, then gets to his knees, where he’s met with a pair of right
hands which seal his fate. Referee Dan Miragliotta jumps in to
rescue the dazed Feijao, giving Thiago Silva the win via knockout
at 4:29 of round one.
Round 1
Patolino strikes first with an inside leg kick, then ducks a punch
from Santos and tries to clinch. Santos shakes him off, but
Patolino gets back inside to push Santos against the fence. Santos
tries a guillotine, but it’s not deep and Patolino gets his head
free with ease. Patolino eats a punch from Santos to take the Nova
Uniao representative down at the base of the fence. Patolino
manages a few solid punches and elbows as Santos works to wrap him
up from underneath. With two minutes left in the round, Patolino
postures up to drop punches, then grabs the back of Santos’ head to
slug away with right hands. Santos looks to be in trouble as he
goes to his back again and tries to post. Santos gets to his feet
with 70 seconds left, held on the fence by Patolino’s underhooks.
Eventually, Patolino releases Santos, and Santos tries to make up
some ground with a hard leg kick. Santos botches a throw and winds
up on the ground with Patolino trying to take his back at the end
of the round.Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Patolino
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Patolino
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Patolino
Round 2
Santos lands a couple punches on Patolino, who drops his hands to
his sides and allows Santos to clinch up. Patolino reverses on the
fence before separating and creating space. Santos is starting to
string together strikes -- leg kicks, punches and a knee -- before
Patolino changes levels and puts Santos on the ground. Three
minutes left and Patolino works from Santos’ open guard, scooting
Santos toward the fence. Santos scrambles up and dodges an
uppercut, then catches an incoming Patolino with a knee to the
body. They tie up and Patolino grabs hold of the fence to get top
position as Santos hits a takedown. Ref Marc Goddard pauses the
fight and restarts them on the feet, warning Patolino without
deducting a point. They restart and Patolino clinches Santos
against the fence, but Santos trips Patolino to the ground and
quickly steps into full mount. Santos sits up to drop elbows and
punches until Patolino turns over; when he does, Santos grabs hold
of an arm-triangle. The choke looks deep as Santos steps over.
Patolino resists at first, but eventually taps out at the 4:43 mark
of round two, making Leonardo Santos the winner of “The Ultimate
Fighter: Brazil” Season 2.
Round 1
Referee Mario Yamasaki is the third man in the cage for tonight’s
heavyweight main event. Werdum opens up with an inside leg kick as
Nogueira chases him counterclockwise around the perimeter. They tie
up on the fence and Werdum tosses Nogueira to the floor, then steps
into full mount. Nogueira stuffs him back to half-guard, so Werdum
sits up to sock Nogueira with a pair of hard right hands. Werdum
grabs head-and-arm control, so Nogueira goes to deep half-guard,
then goes after a single-leg. Werdum spins out and zaps Nogueira
with a knee as “Big Nog” gets to his feet. A stiff jab from Werdum
snaps back Nogueira’s head, but the former Pride champ keeps
pressing forward. Nogueira shoves Werdum against the fence with an
underhook and does a little dirty boxing. Werdum slips out and
checks the oncoming Nogueira with an outside thigh kick. Nogueira
strings together a pair of solid combos that have Werdum stumbling
backwards. The big men clinch on the fence, Nogueira on the
outside, slugging Werdum with a couple sneaky uppercuts. Werdum
shoves off and sticks a jab in Nogueira’s face. Nogueira keeps
coming forward and lands a short, standing elbow as he closes in on
Werdum on the fence. Werdum glances at the clock for the second
time with 15 seconds left, then breaks away from the clinch before
the horn sounds.Tristen Critchfield scores the round 10-9 Werdum
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Werdum
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Werdum
Round 2
Werdum starts the round with some hard leg kicks, then steps into
the pocket, slugs Nogueira with a right hand and dips out. Nogueira
clinches Werdum against the fence with an underhook and lands a
couple lefts before being turned around. Nogueira pulls guard for a
guillotine attempt, but he loses it almost as soon as they hit the
ground, and it’s Werdum working on top with 3:15 left in the round.
Werdum is in side control, leaning right to left on Nogueira and
hunting for a kimura on the far arm. Nogueira tries to scramble up
and winds up in north-south position. As Nogueira turtles to try to
stand, Werdum jumps on his back, then goes belly down on an armbar.
Werdum stretches out Nogueira’s left arm, and ref Yamasaki steps in
as Nogueira verbally submits at 2:41 of round two.
