Ilir Latifi had nothing to lose, and Gegard Mousasi had plenty. But in the end, things went the way they were supposed to.

Mousasi, a more than 10-to-1 favorite, worked a methodical striking attack and avoided the brunt of Latifi’s power and cruised to a unanimous decision victory.

The light heavyweight bout was the main event of Saturday’s UFC on FUEL TV 9 event at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm.

Latifi took the fight on just four days’ notice when original headliner Alexander Gustafsson was ruled out with a cut suffered in training the week before. Mousasi peppered him with jabs throughout the fight, using his length to keep Latifi at range – and keep him bloodied up from the second round onward to win a sweep of the judges’ scorecards.
