Thursday’s Bellator 93 event has lost a main-card bout as an injury has forced Eric Prindle (7-3 MMA, 3-2 BFC) out of his heavyweight clash with Brett Rogers (12-5 MMA, 1-1 BFC).
Bellator officials today announced the change, though details of the injury were not revealed.
The Bellator 93 main card, which airs on Spike TV, will continue with his just three bouts. It follows the Spike.com prelims, which stream from Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine.
Prindle looked to snap a two-fight skid at the event, which included a heavyweight title loss to then-champ Cole Konrad and a disqualification loss (due to a groin kick) to Thiago Santos in the opening round of the Season 7 heavyweight tournament.
Rogers, meanwhile, looked to snap out of a 2-5 skid that included high-profile losses in Strikeforce (to Fedor Emelianenko, Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett). Most recently, he suffered a broken arm and a decision loss to Alexander Volkov in the opening round of Bellator’s Season 7 heavyweight tournament.
The latest Bellator 93 card now includes:
MAIN CARD (Spike TV, 10 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (Spike.com, 8 p.m. ET)
