Source: Bellator 91 Draws 901,000 Viewers on Spike TV

Thursday night’s Bellator 91 broadcast on Spike TV averaged 901,000 viewers, the promotion’s best showing since its eighth-season debut.

Sherdog.com on Friday verified the figure with an industry source, who also confirmed that the two-hour broadcast posted ratings of 0.8 and 0.7 in the Male 18-49 and M18-34 demographics, setting season highs in both categories. The viewership peaked between 11:45 p.m. and midnight ET, attracting just over 1 million viewers during the quarter hour. The replay netted Spike TV an additional 341,000 viewers and brought the four-hour block’s viewership total to 1.24 million.

Bellator 92 took place at Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, N.M., and saw Attila Vegh wrest the light heavyweight title from Christian M’Pumbu in the evening’s five-round main event. The main card also featured the lightweight tournament semifinals, highlighted by Saad Awad’s 43-second knockout of favored prospect Will Brooks.

Onetime welterweight David Rickels also advanced to the 155-pound finals by taking a clear-cut unanimous nod over injury replacement Jason Fischer.
