Swedish Alexander Gustafsson (15-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) and former Strikeforce champion Gegard Mousasi (33-3-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) headlines April's UFC on FUEL TV 9 event in a five round fight that finally has been approved.
"However, it is important to remember that this decision does not mean that the overall match time for (all) MMA matches increases," said SMMAF President George Sallfeldt.
Earlier, at the time the bout between Gustafsson and Mousasi was announced, the Swedish MMA Federation (SMMAF) said the light-heavyweight fight wasn't approved for five rounds and needed special clearance.
UFC boss Dana White recently announced that Gustafsson will be the next title contender if he beats Mousasi.
UFC on FUEL TV 9 takes place April 6 at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
