Report: Welterweights Adlan Amagov, Chris Spang to Meet at UFC on Fuel TV 9 in Stockholm

Two more Strikeforce imports will collide under the UFC banner when Adlan Amagov faces fellow welterweight Chris Spang at UFC on Fuel TV 9, according to a report from Swedish outlet Aftonbladet.

UFC on Fuel TV 9 marks the organization’s second trip to Sweden and is headlined by a pivotal light heavyweight showdown between surging Swede Alexander Gustafsson and former Strikeforce king Gegard Mousasi. The event, which takes place April 6 at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, will also showcase a bantamweight pairing pitting hard-hitting Brit Brad Pickett against American vet Mike Easton.

Born in Chechnya but now representing Jackson’s MMA, Amagov posted a 3-1 record under the Strikeforce banner as a middleweight, taking wins over Ronald Stallings and Anthony Smith before suffering a knockout at the hands of former EliteXC champion Robbie Lawler. “The Wolf” was last seen in August, stopping Keith Berry via technical knockout in just 48 seconds at “Rousey vs. Kaufman.”

Known as “The Kiss,” Spang is a native Swede but now fights out of Las Vegas. Three years younger than his opponent, the 25-year-old has lost just once as a professional, dropping a unanimous decision to Ricky Legere Jr. one year ago at “Rockhold vs. Jardine.” Spang rebounded from the defeat by stopping Nah-Shon Burrell last May at “Barnett vs. Cormier,” finishing the 23-year-old via first-round technical knockout.
