Legend Fighting Championship Inks TV Distribution Deal with ESPN International

Legend Fighting Championship has signed a broadcast agreement with ESPN International that will see the Hong Kong-based promotion broadcast on television and broadband channels in 109 countries through the end of 2014.

The promotion announced the news on Tuesday, revealing that the deal will begin with the upcoming Legend FC 11. Though an official date has not been set for that event, the show is expected to be headlined by a lightweight title bout between champion Jadamba Narantungalag (Pictured) and Japanese challenger Koji Ando.

“Since our first tournament in January 2010, Legend has been bringing the best of Asia-Pacific MMA to a growing audience,” said Chris Pollak, Legend FC co-founder and managing director, in the official release. “This agreement will give our television and broadband streaming efforts huge new reach into multiple regions around the world, cementing our position as the most widely distributed Asian MMA content worldwide. We look forward to working closely with our partners at ESPN.”

According to the official release, the deal will see the promotion extend its reach to Australia and New Zealand, as well as countries in the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. The deal also gains ESPN International access to more than two years’ worth of archived footage dating back to Legend FC’s second event.
