Report: Anthony Perosh Injures Toe, Withdraws from UFC on FX 6 Meeting with Joey Beltran

Anthony Perosh has reportedly suffered a broken toe and will be unable to compete against Joey Beltran at UFC on FX 6.

Australian journalist Adam Ireland first reported the news on Twitter, posting a picture of the grotesque injury on Monday. According to Ireland, the light heavyweight will need to undergo surgery to repair the break but hopes to return to training in four to six weeks. The UFC has yet to announce Perosh’s withdrawal or name an injury replacement.

UFC on FX 6 takes place Dec. 15 at Gold Coast Convention Centre in Gold Coast, Australia, but airs in the United States the day prior due to the time difference. “The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs. U.K.” coaches George Sotiropoulos and Ross Pearson will square off in the evening’s lightweight headliner, while former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard faces Brazilian leg lock specialist Rousimar Palhares in the co-main event.

Perosh, 40, had a three-fight winning streak snapped in his most recent outing, when he was knocked cold in just seven seconds by former Maximum Fighting Championship titlist Ryan Jimmo at UFC 149. Prior to that July 21 setback, the Australian veteran posted Octagon consecutive victories over Tom Blackledge, Cyrille Diabate and Nick Penner, finishing each man inside of two rounds. Known for his ground game, “The Hippo” has tapped out nine of his 13 career victims and has yet to be submitted 20 professional appearances.
