Several TUF 16 Finale Bouts Announced; Tickets On Sale October 12

TUF 16 Logo - Ultimate Fighter FridaysThe Ultimate Fighting Championship on Tuesday made The Ultimate Fighter Season 16 Finale official. The event marks the return of the series finale – on Dec. 15 – to The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The TUF Finale hasn’t been held at the Hard Rock since the TUF 4 Finale in 2006.

The TUF 16 Finale is headlined by a heavyweight bout between the season’s head coaches, Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson. Carwin recently tweaked his knee in training, but it obviously will not affect the finale, although it did interfere with some recent promotional plans in the U.K.

Aside from the event itself, the main event, and the season finals, UFC officials on Tuesday also announced that verbal agreements are in place for several other bouts for the TUF 16 Finale.

Other TUF 16 Finale bouts include: Mike Pyle vs. James Head, Nick Catone vs. TJ Waldburger, Rustam Khabilov vs. Vinc Pichel, Reuben Duran vs. Hugo Viana, and Johnny Bedford vs. Marcos Vinicius.

The TUF 16 Finale main card airs live on FX at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on Dec. 15. Tickets to the event go on sale Friday, Oct. 12, at the Hard Rock Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations, www.ticketmaster.com, www.thejointlasvegas.com or charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000.

TUF 16: Team Carwin vs. Team Nelson airs Friday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
