Manhoef has not won a fight since he stopped 2006 Pride Fighting Championships welterweight grand prix winner Kazuo Misaki on first-round punches under the K-1 banner in December 2009. The 36-year-old Mike’s Gym representative has secured 23 of his 24 professional victories by knockout or technical knockout, 20 of them inside one round. Moreover, Manhoef has finished six opponents in a minute or less. Wins over 2001 K-1 World Grand Prix winner Mark Hunt, Japanese icon Kazushi Sakuraba and Strikeforce veteran Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos anchor his lengthy resume.
Kim posted his second victory in three outings in February, when he submitted Hee Seung Kim with a third-round North-South choke at Road FC 6. A potent finisher in his own right, the 28-year-old Korean has delivered 13 of his 14 career wins by knockout, technical knockout or submission. Three of Kim’s nine defeats have come to UFC veteran Denis Kang.
