UFC 150 Medical Suspensions: Benson Henderson Tops a Short List

Benson Henderson at the UFC 150 weigh-insUFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar was loaded with knockouts on Saturday night at the Pepsi Center in Denver. That didn’t account for much of a lengthy suspension list from the Colorado Office of Boxing, however.

In fact, only eight of the 20 fighters on the card received any sort of suspension, and half of those were fairly standard 45 days or less.

The only two suspensions of any note were UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson and pay-per-view opener Justin Lawrence.

Henderson must be cleared by a physician before he is allowed to fight again, although the nature of the commission’s concern wasn’t disclosed pursuant to Colorado law.

Henderson didn’t seem to suffer much visible damage in his fight with Frankie Edgar and is already slated to face Nate Diaz in the UFC on Fox 5 main event on Dec. 8, so it’s unlikely that his clearance will be much more than a formality.

Max Holloway TKO’d Lawrence in the first bout on pay-per-view, leading Lawrence to a 60-day suspension that also requires a physician’s clearance prior to fighting again.

UFC 150 Medical Suspensions:

Benson Henderson – Must be cleared by a physician
Melvin Guillard – 60 Days
Buddy Roberts – 30 Days
Justin Lawrence – 60 Days + physician clearance
Jared Hamman – 60 Days
Ken Stone – 30 Days
Dustin Pague – 45 Days
Eiji Mitsuoka – 45 Days

UFC 150 fighter salaries and drug test information is not revealed by the state of Colorado.
