DENVER – Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone couldn’t have been more excited to fight in front of his hometown crowd than he was at Saturday’s UFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar II at the Pepsi Center in Denver.
That exhilaration nearly came to screeching halt, however, when Guillard rocked Cerrone in the opening moments of the fight. Cerrone somehow weathered the storm, only to fire back with a kick to the head that stunned Guillard and then followed up with a right cross that sent his former teammate crashing to the canvas.
Cerrone has long wanted a fight with Anthony Pettis, and after his stellar finish of Guillard, it looks like he might just get it.
