Josh Neer, Carlo Prater, and Flyweights Among New UFC on FX 5 Bouts

The Ultimate Fighting Championship had to scrap its plans for Indianapolis, but quickly moved UFC on FX 5 to the Target Center in Minneapolis and now the fight announcements are falling like dominoes.

Promotion officials on confirmed a few previously reported bouts, plus a few new ones Tuesday night.

Leading the way is a welterweight bout pitting TUF 13's Justin Edwards against Josh Neer in a classic grappler vs. striker match-up.

The next domino to fall was a lightweight fight pitting grappling specialists, albeit of different types, against each other. Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Carlo Prater faces wrestling based Marcus LeVesseur.

A UFC flyweight champion should be crowned when Joseph Benavidez fights Demetrious Johnson at UFC 152 just a couple weeks prior to UFC on FX 5, but the division will continue to develop with Darren Uyenoyama squaring off with Louis Gaudinot and TUF 14 winner John Dodson facing Jussier Formiga in Minneapolis.

A battle of the big boys headlines UFC on FX 5 with Travis Browne vs. Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in heavyweight action.
