The hype heading into UFC 148's Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen rematch was beyond compare. The trash talk, the feuding, the marketing, a week-long build-up in Las Vegas.

UFC president Dana White said that UFC 148 set nearly every record in the book on the business side of the equation for the company, adding that, although the final numbers hadn’t been added up, UFC 148's economic impact on Las Vegas was somewhere between 93 and 140 million dollars.
“This is one of the biggest fights of the year… we shut down Brazil.”
