TV Ratings Hit a Solid Number for UFC on Fuel TV 4

Mark Munoz vs Chris Weidman at UFC on Fuel TV 4UFC on Fuel TV 4: Munoz vs. Weidman didn’t fare so well at the box office in San Jose, Calif., on Wednesday, but the TV ratings did rather well for the growing action sports network.

UFC on Fuel TV 4 pulled in an average of 211,000 viewers over the course of its three-hour, six-bout telecast, according to industry sources.

Only UFC on Fuel TV 1 fared better, drawing 217,000 viewers.

Four events into the series Fuel is averaging 199,500 viewers per UFC event on the network. That’s a far cry from pre-UFC programming, which was often lucky to be counted in the tens of thousands, nary even scratching the surface of six figures when it came to viewership.

The numbers may not be staggering for the UFC, but it’s part of a concerted strategy between the UFC and Fox to help grown Fuel TV and help launch it onto more cable and satellite carriers as the relationship progresses.
