Tagarela Teaches: The Korean Zombie’s D’arce Choke

MMAWeekly.com is proud to welcome Jonatas “Tagarela” Gurgel to the site as he will be presenting a series of instructional videos in the coming months.

Tagarela, which translated from Portuguese means “a person that is always talking,” is a lead Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor at the famed American Top Team in Florida, and comes from excellent lineage for his grappling roots.

A multi-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion, Gurgel will join MMAWeekly.com as a guest instructor as he walks through some of the top techniques used in and out of mixed martial arts, while also demonstrating some submission moves that may have recently been showcased in a fight.

In this first video, Tagarela is joined by former MMAWeekly Radio Ultimate Fighter correspondent Marcus Brimage, as they show how the Korean Zombie finished Dustin Poirier with a D’arce choke at UFC on Fuel 3, and one extra way to make the finisher even more devastating.
