Heavyweights Travis Browne, Ben Rothwell Clash at UFC on Fox 4 in Los Angeles

Fresh off impressive performances at UFC 145, heavyweights Travis Browne and Ben Rothwell will return to the cage on Aug. 4, squaring off at UFC on Fox 4.

Promotion officials announced the booking Monday night. UFC on Fox 4 takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and features the anticipated UFC debut of former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard, who faces the hard-hitting Brian Stann. Additionally, onetime UFC light heavyweight ruler Lyoto Machida steps into the Octagon for the first time since his failed bid to recapture the title in December, locking horns with “Ultimate Fighter” Season 8 winner Ryan Bader.

Browne, 29, has yet to lose in his three-year pro career. Since drawing with Cheick Kongo in October 2010, “Hapa” has won three straight contests, knocking out Stefan Struve just under one year ago before outpointing Rob Broughton in a lackluster affair at UFC 135 this past September. Browne’s UFC 145 appearance proved brief, as the native Hawaiian dispatched Strikeforce vet Chad Griggs with an arm-triangle choke in just 2:29.

Meanwhile, Rothwell required even less time to finish Brendan Schaub on April 21, stopping “The Hybrid” in 70 seconds via knockout. A former International Fight League standout, Rothwell has posted a 2-2 record since joining the UFC in 2009, falling to future champion Cain Velasquez and former Pride Fighting Championships talent Mark Hunt while besting Schaub and Gilbert Yvel. The 30-year-old is a veteran of 40 pro contests and owns over half of his career wins by knockout.
