Mark Munoz vs. Chris Weidman Headlines UFC on Fuel 4 in July

UFC on Fuel 4 will land on the network July 11 and now they have their main event.

In a middleweight match-up that could potentially crown the next No. 1 contender, Mark Munoz will get back in action against Chris Weidman for the headline bout on the card.

Sources close to the match-up confirmed the bout to MMAWeekly.com with contracts signed for the July showdown. UFC Tonight also confirmed the match-up on Tuesday night’s show.

Mark Munoz will return to action after an elbow injury sidelined him for his last scheduled bout against Chael Sonnen in January. Munoz had to undergo surgery to repair damage to his elbow, but now healthy again he’s ready to resume his mission to claim the UFC middleweight title.

Standing in his way will be fellow wrestler and grappler Chris Weidman, who looks to keep his record unscathed when he heads to UFC on Fuel 4.

Weidman has gone 4-0 thus far in his UFC career and most recently picked up a unanimous decision win over Demian Maia at UFC on Fox 2.

Now the Matt Serra and Ray Longo trained student will look to make a major impact in the UFC’s 185lb division when he tries to knock off Mark Munoz in July.

More fights are expected to be announced in the coming weeks for the newly minted UFC on Fuel 4 card in July.
