Antonio McKee has been stripped of the Maximum Fighting Championship lightweight title after coming in seven pounds overweight at Thursday’s MFC 32weigh-ins.

McKee will still face Brian Cobb in the co-main event, but it will now be a three-round non-title affair. Sherdog.com confirmed the news with an MFC official on Thursday, who also verified that McKee will be released by the promotion following his bout with Cobb.

Headlined by a five-round light heavyweight scrap between UFC vet Wilson Gouveia and MFC staple Dwayne Lewis, “Bitter Rivals” takes place Friday at the Mayfield Inn Trade and Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Gouveia’s clash with Lewis marks the MFC’s inaugural five-round non-title fight.

McKee, 41, has won 15 of his last 17 fights. A 12-year pro, the lightweight made his lone UFC appearance roughly 13 months ago, dropping a split decision to fellow grappler Jacob Volkmann at UFC 125. The Californian most recently competed on Aug. 26, submitting Jai Bradney with a rear-naked choke at Cage Fighting Championship 18 in Sydney.
