Injured Tirloni Withdraws from Bellator 57 Bout Against Horodecki

A planned lightweight contest between Ricardo Tirloni and Chris Horodecki will not go down as planned at Bellator Fighting Championships 57.

Tirloni (Pictured) had planned to make his sophomore Bellator appearance at the Nov. 12 event, just three weeks after his promotional debut. However, Sherdog.com learned Tuesday that dislocated ribs suffered in training will prevent the Brazilian from competing at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, Canada.

Bellator officials are currently seeking a replacement opponent for Horodecki.

Airing on MTV2, the evening’s main card will feature the finals of both the Season 5 welterweight and middleweight tournaments, as Alexander Shlemenko faces Vitor Vianna and Douglas Lima clashes with Ben Saunders.

A winner of 11 straight fights, Tirloni’s lone loss came in 2008 to current UFC contender Benson Henderson. The 28-year-old was successful in his Bellator debut on Oct. 22, finishing Steve Gable with a second-round rear-naked choke at Bellator 55.

Horodecki has won back-to-back contests following his departure from World Extreme Cagefighting. Only 24 years old, “The Polish Hammer” is a six-year veteran of the sport. The former International Fight League staple has been perfect in 2011, submitting David Castillo in April before outpointing Chris Saunders in his Bellator debut in July.
