Strikeforce Challengers 17, the promotion’s first event in Las Vegas, took place on July 22 at The Pearl at The Palms Casino Resort. Bobby Voelker defeated Roger Bowling in the main event.
Under the watch of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, 12 of the event’s 18 fighters were subjected to drug testing for both performance enhancing and recreational substances.
The fighters tested included both main eventers, Bobby Voelker and Roger Bowling, as well as Ovince St. Preux, Shawn Jordan, Devin Cole, Joe Cason, Anthony Smith, Bill Cooper, Sterling Ford, Sarah Kaufman, Adlan Amagov, and TJ Cook.
“All tests were negative for prohibited substances,” NSAC executive director Keith Kizer informed MMAWeekly.com on Friday.
The promotion returns to The Pearl on Aug. 12 for Strikeforce Challengers 18, featuring a main event pitting Jorge Gurgel against Joe Duarte.
