The lightweight match-up between Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone and Charles Oliveira is like lightning in a bottle. That’s why the UFC has moved the bout to the main card of UFC on Versus 5 in Milwaukee.
UFC officials announced the move on Monday.
The bout between Cerrone and Oliviera wasn’t even originally planned for the August card, but a series of injuries led to the two exciting 155-pounders meeting.
The original fight was supposed to be John Makdessi vs. Paul Taylor, but Makdessi fell out due to injury and Cerrone stepped in as a replacement. Just days later it was Taylor who was forced out of the bout, then Oliveira got the call and accepted the fight with Cerrone.
Both Cerrone and Oliveira are known for exciting, non-stop action fights, and that’s the reason why they will get a guaranteed slot on the main televised card for UFC on Versus 5.
The card goes down on Aug. 12 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
