Report: UFC Sues Nebraska Bar Owner

The UFC is reportedly suing a Nebraska bar owner for allegedly broadcasting UFC 128 without permission from the promotion.

According to a report from the Lincoln Journal Star, the UFC is seeking up to $260,000 plus attorney’s fees in a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court in Lincoln, Neb.

The Journal Star’s report states that the bar owner in question is Larry Davidson, of Elwood, Neb. The owner of The Edge Bar and Grill in Alda, Neb., as named in the complaint, Davidson reportedly stands accused of illegally receiving the broadcast and showing the event without permission in violation of the promotion’s copyright.

Headlined by a light heavyweight confrontation between Jon Jones and Mauricio Rua, UFC 128 took place March 19 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Jones dominated “Shogun” in the main event, punishing the Brazilian and taking his title with a third-round technical knockout.
