Sickness has taken T.J. Grant out of his scheduled fight at UFC on Versus 4 this weekend in Pittsburgh, and the UFC has opted to pull his opponent Charlie Brenneman from the card as well.
UFC officials made the announcement on Wednesday.
Grant apparently fell ill this week and was just not well enough to be able to compete on the card set for Sunday at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
The disappointment for the fight being canceled comes extremely hard for Pennsylvania native Charlie Brenneman who had dreamed of fighting in his home state for this card.
Originally, Brenneman wasn’t scheduled for the card but an earlier injury gave him the shot, and he was excited to fight in Pittsburgh.
Unfortunately now not only does he not get to fight in his home state, but he’ll have to wait for a call from the UFC to find out when he’ll get to fight next.
The UFC on Versus 4 card will now total out at 11 fights with 7 preliminary bouts airing on Facebook with the main card hitting Versus at 9pm ET.
