TUF 13 Finale: Anthony Pettis, “I Want to Knock Him Out”

Many expectations have been heaped upon final WEC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis as he prepares for his UFC debut. After a six month wait, he is finally set to square off with Clay Guida at Saturday’s TUF 13 Finale in Las Vegas.

Pettis was originally going to fight the winner of Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard to unify the WEC and UFC belts, but a draw between those two and injuries delaying a rematch really left Pettis with little option other than to step into the Octagon and keep his career moving along.

“I came to the UFC to fight. I’m not gonna sit around and wait,” Pettis told the media on Thursday.

He doesn’t care too much for the lofty expectations tossed his way because Pettis has his own expectations, especially for Saturday night’s fight with Guida, “I want to do the thing that no one has ever done, that’s knock him out.”
