UFC 130: Brian Stann Reflects on His Victory and Fighting in Front of Veterans Including Seal Team 6

It was a very special night for UFC middleweight Brian Stann at UFC 130.

Not only did Stann TKO former Sengoku middleweight champion Jorge Santiago, but he was able to fight during Memorial Day weekend, something that meant a lot to the former Marine who served on several tours overseas.

Stann has dedicated much of his post military career to the continued work support veterans, and he was honored to fight in front of so many of his fellow troops in Las Vegas Saturday night.

Chants of ‘USA, USA’ rang through the crowd during Stann’s fight, and he admits he heard the noise, and it fueled him even more.

“I did hear those chants, and obviously it’s a career moment for anybody that could be there in that type of environment. There was a lot of veterans in the crowd tonight, include parts of Seal Team 6, which I don’t think any of you guys knew about,” Stann revealed.

“It was an honor. They weren’t just chanting for me.”

Seal Team 6 were the special operatives that went on the mission that eventually killed Osama Bin Laden just a few weeks ago. They along with many other veterans sat in the crowd as Stann finished off his fight with Santiago, and claimed his place among the best middleweights in the world.
