Another one moves to featherweight.
Former 155-pound fighter Tyson Griffin will drop to 145 pounds for his next fight. He will face Manny Gamburyan at UFC on Versus 4 set to go down on June 26.
The bout was announced by the UFC on Tuesday.
Griffin enters the fray at 145 after three-straight losses at lightweight, but not without some controversy mixed in. His last bout at UFC 123 ended in a decision loss to Nik Lentz in a fight just about everyone outside of the judges in Detroit felt Griffin should have won.
After the fight, Griffin made the announcement he was dropping to featherweight. He’ll get a former title contender for his first test in his new weight class.
Manny Gamburyan returns in June after injuries forced him out of his scheduled UFC 128 bout against Raphael Assuncao. Gamburyan last fought in 2010 in a knockout loss to current UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo.
The featherweight pairing is the latest addition to the card going down June 26, most likely at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
