Demetrious Johnson vs. Renan Barao in the Works for TUF 13 Finale in June

A bantamweight fight is in the works for the “Ultimate Fighter” 13 finale show pitting Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson against Renan “Barao” do Nascimento Mota Pegado.

The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the negotiations on Friday. Tatame.com initially reported the rumored bout.

Johnson (8-1) returns to action in June riding a 3 fight win streak that saw the Matt Hume trained fighter beat both Damacio Page and Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto back-to-back during that time.

A rising star in the 135lb division, Johnson could be getting into title territory in 2011, but first will face a prospect from the Nova Uniao camp in Brazil.

Renan “Barao” do Nascimento Mota Pegado, known by most fans simply as Renan Barao, makes his third appearance under the Zuffa umbrella.

The Brazilian has submitted two opponents in two chances when he was in the WEC, and he makes his UFC debut against a very tough challenge in Demetrious Johnson.

There’s been no word if the fight between Johnson and Barao will end up on the main card or preliminary portion of the show airing on Spike TV in June.
