We were on the scene for the final night of the historic "Levitated Mass" move. It took 11 nights for the 340-ton granite boulder from Riverside County to reach its destination at LACMA in Los Angeles. LACMA paid the quarry $70,000 for the rock and according to LACMA's director, the total cost of buying, moving and setting up the rock is around $10 million. It was privately funded. The custom built transporter that moved the boulder is roughly 260 feet long and 32 feet wide. The weight of the rock is distributed over 196 wheels to prevent road damage The rock will be a permanent sculpture at LACMA and there will be no charge to see the sculpture in the park. The artist behind the project called "Levitated Mass" is Michael Heizer. The exhibit will officially open to the public in spring or early summer of 2012. Camera / Editing: Wade Eck
